Leather Tanning Process
Raw hides are sourced and put in mimosa powder bark tanning pits. This step takes one month. Only two tanneries in Japan still produce vegetable tanned leather in this traditional way
The hides are then dyed
The leather is dried
Each hide is finished by applying oils, then sheen and softness is applied through machinery
