Our Travel Bag

Our Travel Bag

Welcome to our latest journal post! Today we're looking at one of our products we're currently testing and looking to release - our travel bag. Let's look at one of our sample travel bags we have made in our trademark Kuriro Maroon-Brown leather.

Design

The thinking and design behind the bag is simple:

  1. Suitable for everyday use - work, the gym, sports games etc
  2. Suitable also for trips away - enough room for a weekend away, carry on, able to withstand baggage carousels
  3. Comfortable to carry for long periods of time
  4. Practical - https://ngaioleatherco.com.au/blogs/news/our-design-philosophy-part-one-practicality
  5. Durable - https://ngaioleatherco.com.au/blogs/news/our-design-philosophy-part-two-durability
  6. Minimalistic - https://ngaioleatherco.com.au/blogs/news/our-design-philosophy-part-three-a-minimalistic-aesthetic

The travel bag has a front pocket, suitable for passports, phones, pens etc that can be secured with a zip but also easily accessible. We noticed with other travel bags that the carry handle was usually very short and our hands would uncomfortably touch the body of the bag. With ours, we have added length to the handle ensuring maximum comfort.

There is a convenient compartment for a pair of shoes or boots to make sure your belongings don't get dirty.

A high quality, sturdy yet comfortable shoulder strap that can be detached to your liking.

For the interior we have used our usual soft lining, with a zip pocket, two open pockets and a separate laptop compartment with leather strap.

All hardware used is high quality iron and zinc alloy, including YKK zippers.

The bag is almost a year old and it has aged spectacularly, even with minimal conditioning.

Possible Modifications

There are always things we can improve on our samples, and our travel bag is no exception.

  1. We made our sample to be close to the maximum size for most carry on limits - 54 cm x 31 cm x 25 cm. However, although this provides maximum space it doesn't feel balanced on your shoulder. Our final iterations will be smaller.
  2. We will likely add in a strap so that the bag can be easily attached to a small suitcase handle. This will make travelling with both much more convenient.
  3. We are toying with the idea of adding in a detachable compartment for a suit or coat to the outside of the bag.

Thanks for checking in with us for this journal post. We are working hard to get our travel bags ready to launch! For more information or any questions on any of our products please contact us here - https://ngaioleatherco.com.au/pages/contact

Until next time!
