Welcome to our latest journal post. Today we wanted to share with you some BTS photos of our Japanese leather tannery partner.

The tannery is located on Honshu Island, right in the heart of Japan. The tannery exudes a real sense of tradition and history as you walk in.

The tannery has over 110 years of producing leather. There are current workers who have been working here for decades and have great pride in their work and craftsmanship.

The tannery is one of only two tanneries in Japan still producing vegetable tanned leather using bark mimosa tanning pits. This has been the traditional process that has been used in Japan for decades.

As with seemingly everything in Japan, the tannery is inviting and pretty despite being used for decades. There aren't many factories or tanneries that you can say the same for around the world.

It has been a pleasure to work with them so far and we hope our partnership continues long into the future.
